Architecture in Nigeria has come a long way, especially from the times when our founding fathers of the profession came back from Europe and America to start there practice, till now- where indigenous Architectural practices are trying to find their unique voice and means of expression.
A lot has happened during this interlude as we all struggle to interprete what I would call our own art and science inspired my modernism as evolution of materials. Our architectural landscape is full of voices struggling to find an identity.
Afrocentrism as the term implies attempts to explain that which is uniquely African. As we all tirelessly attempt to interpret this in our Architecture, the need to tell our unique stories becomes extremely apparent.
How do we do so? We need to begin to document our processes in photos and videos is important.
